I may have only been once to Turnmills and that was Saturdays Closing party, but it will always be etched in my memory as my favourite night out to date in London. Chemical Brothers and Fat Boy Slim played the best sets I've ever heard them play. Sorry to see you guys go. P.S Where can i see/find the photos taken by the photographers... they said they would be up on this site??

Major era in my clubbing days gone forever! Had many EPIC nights on a Friday for The Gallery the past 2 years and It'll be strange never going back. Never forget my first Gallery though, Paul Van Dyk and Eddie Halliwell tore the roof off and that night i'll never forget. Thanks for the memories! x x x

Love Turnmills so much, i even spoke to the council regarding a street protest. Unfortunately it was declined. However thanks for all the support to those who joined our facebook group (PROTEST AGAINST TURNMILLS TO CLOSE). Turnmills is gone, but the memories. Privilidged to have danced on Turnmills dance floor.

nibbs From: surrey
only managed to go here once to see above&beyond and smith&pleadger had a really fat night, good luck to you all,LONG LIVE TURNMILLS,REGARDS NIBBS

Aaron Atkinson From: Harrow, London
I urge everyone to get down to Ministry. It wasn't just the club, it was the crowd that made it special. Leave your ego at the door and be prepared to dance your socks off. The club is shut (dead), but it's soul is very much still alive. The Turnmills vibe will go on people...

Karenza From: Manchester
Sorry to hear about the closure of Turnmills - Having experienced the burning down of Crasher, Sheffield recently, I can imagine that all the dedicated Turnmill's clubbers are gutted that their 'home' is shut. Hope it rises from the ashes bigger, better, faster, stronger! Krenz

chrystian maykon dourado From: wimbledon, london, uk and italy
i really aprecciate that,,,its also kind, of respect, when someone use the things how they want to., and he knows that. cheers

Moshe Franco From: London
Hello, I was wondering whether you are going to organise with the building owners to have a blue plaque put on the building, or whether you would support me if I request them to put one. Something in the lines of '(198? - 2008) Home of Turnmills - the first club in England to host an afterhours party'. Regards, Moshe

Steve Hingley From: Birmingham

Matty From: London, on loan from Australia
This place was my second home. I have spent so many countless hours here and met so many other like-minded munters. My friend met his wife there FFS!! Gallery on Fridays will always, always, always be THE greatest club night of all time. I used to get butterflies all week leading up to it everytime. Bless all of you. And may the memories (or lack thereof) live on. Matty

Crunchie From: London
Trade without Turnmills will never be the same again! I will my little place under the stairs!

Gary Steel From: Little Chalfont
Well its all over now, Turnmills is just a memory, but what memories I have. Over the last 10 years or so I have spent some of the best nights of my life at this little club, and I will honestly miss the place. I would just like to thank Danny, Sandy, Tom, and all the other people who worked for the club over the years and made it such a special place. I hope the new Gallery venue will be half as good the nights have been to me and I just hope the same crowd make things as succesful for Danny at Ministry. Once again, thanks for the memories. P.S. Could you let me know how I can get hold of one of the shiny disco balls from the club to keep as a memory. See you all at Ministry on 25th April Gary

Antonia From: Chiswick
'The Last Dance' and what an amazing dance it was..I bopped 'till I dropped, coz it had to be done for the last time! Met a cheeky Essex boy, Brandon, I think who bought me a JD + coke...should have given you my number. If you see this get in touch!x

Klaire From: London
What an amazing last night - spent most of my youth at Turnmills and the last night just brought back all those memois!!! Peter if your out there was great to meet you but one too many J,D & Cokes think the number I gave you needed an extra 7 !!

lucas From: spain
it is amazing

Fifibelle From: London Town
Some of the best nights of my London life were in Turnmills. So, so sad to see the dirtiest club in London go. See ya! Yuo'll be missed.

Hermaish Heer From: England
And what an amazing finale it was to the demise of Turnmills. It had become a ritual to stay til the end of every Gallery night i went to and i certainly wasn't going to break it now. Went to 2 of the 3 last dance nights including the last final one and was just so happy and sad at the same time as i had left so many quality memories there. Thankyou very much for playing such a huge part of my life and music may the spirit of Turnmills never die.

Mezza999 From: London
Had some of the best nights and mornings of my life in Turnmills, no other london club can even come near. Truely an end of an era. RIP Turnmills and thanks for the memories.

Pedro Norton From: Hertfordshire
Farewell to many a good night! Always enjoyed a boogie in the side room!

Dave Irvine From: Kent
Last weekend was the perfect send off for the perfect club. So many good memories over the years, a pleasure to have been part of them moments and privildged to have been able to be associated with the club whilst Prehab had its T3 residency. Its feel a bit like my dog dying except i dont have a dog. But a good friend all the same! Thanks for the memories! Dave

Louise From: London

Oli Hackett From: Clapham
The Last Dance - best night of my life

Jack Lee From: South Korea
RIP Turnmills - the times I've had at this amazing club epitomizes all the best times I've had since coming to uni in London. I can truly say that I have never had so much fun, nor felt so 'at home' in any other club I've been to. Best Turnmills moments: -Gallery Xmas party 05, seeing Armin for the first time....unbelievable night. -being shoved out of the DJ booth in room 1 by Ferry Corsten -when Turnmills had laughing gas! -making random friends in THAT chillout room, and feeling like I'd known them for years -chatting up Lisa Lashes whilst she was playing her set in Dec 06 -staying completely sober during the Gallery Xmas party 07, and loving every minute of it cos the music was so damn good -jumping around on that bouncy stage at the back of room 2 -going crazy with the glowsticks on that podium in the main room, then nearly falling off. -getting hassled by the minicab drivers on the way out of the club...jus kidding Thank you for all the great times Turnmills!!

miss webbington From: the stone
thanks for a fantastic 21st birthday and several subsequent messy nights..was fantastic. much love and best wishes to everyone who was touched by turnmills xxx

Marv From: Essex
Turnmills closing is like losing a limb........you need it....and you just don't know how your going to cope without it The Gallery @ Turnmills forever Ministry won't be the same...no way Turnmills the best club in the country...... R.I.P

Rich West From: London
I'm so glad I was able to get a ticket for em and my friends for the Last Dance on the Sunday. Danny Rampling was awesome, I still can't get the music out of my head! Thank you Turnmills, for the memories that you have given me and my friends over the last few months since I discovered it. We will truly miss you <3

Michelle Machin From: Birmingham
Turnmills - Myself and Terrie had an awesome night on Saturday, waving goodbye to an era with the help of the Chems and Fatboy Slim. Many a dirty tune played and met some cool people too..If the guy I spoke to on the sofa's in the early hours of Sunday morning reads this..I should have got your number!

Dreamer From: Penza,Russia
Turnmills Best Club in The World!!! Ilove Turnmills!!!

Kevin Watson From: London
It's true when they say "you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone". After the last dance on Sunday/Monday I'm well up for more this weekend, but it's not going to happen, and never will. At the end of the day though, "it's better to have loved and to have lost, than never to have loved at all". We all loved Turnmills, and that's something we'll never lose. From now on, Monday 24th March will always be known as "Blue Monday".

melissa From: essex
i finally turned 18 and discovered turnmills, i luckily managed to go a few times before i heard it was closing down had some great nights here that ill never forget RIP turnmills

Natalie Broadbent From: Cambridge
Top DJs Unique Respected Never-ending (it was like a maze!) Magnificent Imaginative Loveable Loud Sexy There will never be another club quite like it. It was where my true clubbing experience began. Turnmills had a seriously great vibe and even the building was beautiful! I'm glad i got to be there on one of the last nights. RIP Turnmills, thanks for the memories! x

roger ball From: beds
oh, how many stories could the walls of Turnmills tell.. Turnmills is probably the one club I have visited most over the years and it has never, ever failed to please. Always filled with such a diverse crowd and the best music. No matter how many times I visited the place, I always managed to become completely disorientated in its mad, shifting layout, at least once on every visit. Monday morning, 10:45ish, Insomnia onwards was one of the best and most memorable sets I have ever heard in my life. I feel honoured to have been there for this and every other piece of Turnmills history.

Dan B From: Essex
Turnmills was the first "proper" club I went to, been to many since but none better! Definately the end of an era.... some good memories though!

Alistair From: ipswich
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! for the most amazing nights ever, so many great memories....city loud, metrogroove, paris calling, def mix.... Turnmills will always have a special place in my heart. love and peace

Mark From: Swansea
What a loss to us all! Only ever spent 3 nights with you all in Gallery. The most recent one was Clockwork Orange with Boy George. What an absolute blinding night. The best of my life I think! Such a shame. Can it be repeated at M-O-S??? I hope so, but doubt it! The best one ever was going up to see my best mate drinking a cup of tea on the top floor ay 6 in the morning. Good times and sorely missed! xxx

Daniel Cassandro From: Worthing
It was my first and last time at Turnmills. I went to the Sunday session and am confused as to why its shut down! I had an awesome time dancing the soles of my trainers off and haven't been in a club for a while where there are so many different types of people who all got on with each other and didn't cause a problem. Why are they shutting down all of our favourite clubs and why do we have to find new places when the old one's were just fine as they were! Thanks to everyone who served me a drink and good luck for the future! Where are the pictures? DJ Lottie rocked!

Cam From: Enfield
So sad turnmills has closed....spent my most memorable clubbing nights to date in there! Long live the gallery though!...

beard86 From: London
I can't believe it's true, why, why, why? i guess it must be for financial reasons but it's pretty sad so many good memories are going to be wiped out. Turnmills was Trade for me really, and the farewell party was phenomenonal. I'm devastated and am still hoping it's not true!!!X

Ahmed Soliman From: Egypt
i'v been to london for 7 years, every weekend nothing but 'turnmills'.. the best in everything! da real taste of clubing.. :(xx!

The Fash, Emma & Scotty Popper From: Glasgow

Leanne Sumi From: Reading
What can I say.... this place has been my clubbing haven for years. The Last Dance on Easter Sunday was awesome. It was so sad to leave for the last time but I will always have fond memories of this place and coming home mashed on the train in the morning!! Thanks for the good times, you will be missed. RIP Turnmills xx

Tom Chubb From: Clapham
Thanks to Danny and the team at Turnmills. Couldn't make The Last Dance but heard it was fantastic! Some of my best nights ever were at Turnmills and it's a real shame for London to lose such a great venue so soon after the closures in Kings Cross. Best wishes to all the staff and thanks again

alex macey From: luton
man i dunno where to start, well i like to say turnmills was the best club ever, you aint never gonna get a club like it ever again had so many great nights there, they never let you down, and i met so many great people too.even though i have'nt been going there long im defiantly gonna miss that place its home man im gonna be lost without it, fridays aint gonna be the same. Spent the first winter of my OE sheltering from the English cold in Turnmills and what a winter it was! RIP Turnmills, you kept me so warm, amazing music, amazing people, amazing atmosphere - there will never be another club like it xx

Akeel From: North London
The Gallery was one of the first proper club nights I went to and I went regularly for a while. I can remember some of the best nights I've had in there. The decor, the layout, the rooms, it was all so peculiar, yet a perfect (trippy) setting for a party. Saturday with the Chems and Mr. Cook was fantastic and an awesome send off. You will always have a place reserved in my mind.

carolina From: lisboa, portugal
sad that turnmills [massive venue] is now gone, but tremendously happy to be able to say "i was there". together with lots of friends, i went to a together night, april 07. eurovision wrong contest and bestival launch party. what a bomb! got lost all night. from a room to the other room and the next room... and the ladies toilet. and the lights. not only the lasers. the glimmers & boys noize. lego, rubik's cube, game boys and old video-games. us lot wearing eurovision-like-sunglasses. will miss ya when back in london, dear turnmills

gemma From: hemel hempstead
came on saturday and was the best nite ever!!! so gutted its over. xxxx

Martika Canty From: Canvey island, Essex
very sad to see ya go. Had a brilliant last blow out and what a fantastic christmas special!! very well done. Turnmills was my first (and a few after)clubbing experience ... shame it's far from my last. xx

Wayne From: Italy
Still can't beleive you guys closed down!! Haven't been to Turnmills since leaving the UK. I'm pissed I missed the finale with some of the old skool Dj's. You will be missed!

Ian Fraser From: South Africa
Wicked and Crazy!! I truelly havent had a good low down and funky night like that in years. Sister Bliss blew me away, some really hot tracks from the Judge himself. Thanks so much Turmills for that awesome night, it makes up for all the money i spent on the half hearted parties now days.

bic From: basildon
just got back from the last dance, quality nite, but the morning was something else... a truely awesome experience like no other i've ever seen in clubland, or anywhere else for that matter. i don't think anything has, or probably will, come even close... the music from 6am onwards when it was danny rampling in the main room, omg the music !! could only have come from the history contained in those walls & the spirit of the morning, wonderfully eclectic, different styles of house all over the place but none of it, absolutely nothing didn't fit... definately my favorite set of all time, just wish i had a recording of it... it was all about music, turnmills was all about the music... it ran on an hour & half past when they tried to play the last tune, nobody wanted it to be over but as they say all good things must come to an end, it was an euphorically emotional farewell to 1 of the best clubs on the planet, turnmills you will be sorely missed. i'd like to wish the newmans & everyone invilved in making turnmills the amazing place it was the best of luck for the future & many thanks for the good times .

Emma Norcott From: St Neots
I have enjoyed many a night at Turnmills, it has always been one of my favourite clubs in London. But i was very disappointed with the final saturday night (Chem Brothers and Fat Boy) Both acts were dull and boring - i would have thought they might have wanted to create an attmosphere seeing as it was the final Saturday night ever, but alas they were dull and i left early. But i will remember Turnmills fondly !

Neil Burrows From: Bedfordshire (for my sins)
My first proper London clubbing experience after a few years of going to raves previously. Was only there quite regularly for the final years but loved Smartie Partie and the Gallery (of course!) A unique club and spirit there - will be missed....

Stuart Mack From: High Wycombe
What a closing night, Tall Paul you did it again, Judge was the Man, Sister Bliss re-opened my eyes even Gavyn Mitchel was good, but Seb what where you thinking???? Oh and John Askew played a blinder!!!!

Cal From: London
Came to the Friday night session and it was brilliant. Was my first time and a bit sad I wont get to experience it again :o( Met a lovely girl with amazing eyes named Nancy but I must have given you the wrong no by accident. Contact me on wiztaz@gmail.com

Hanna Cevik From: Farringdon
Oh no!!! Spent the whole weekend at the club and cried each time i left. i can't believe that was really it. turnmills is one of the main reasons i didn't get a better degree, have huge credit cards debts and can't remember large portions of 2004-8. and still... i'm gutted! there are two burning questions 1. what will happen to the club? 2. when and where is the "new turnmills" opening? please say it's soon!!

Alexandra From: Hainault
Well, what can i say? Have been going to this club since i was 18 years old, am now an old bird at 31 and totally gutted that it's all over. Had so many brilliant nights there - especially Gallery, which provided hours of dancing, jumping around like nutters and general tomfoolery. Met many of my close friends there - Vic you are a legend! Many great nights with Vic (Queen Vic) Andrea (Gelfling), Mark (Senor Numpty), Tim (Mr Thy),Bal (Ya Fool) and Duncan (Dinky). So many great after parties chatting rubbish and discussing the tunes and crazy random people we got chatting with. The last dance was great, although i still have no senssation in my right big toe, i guess that's what happens when you dance for 12 hours non stop. Lastly i'd like to thanks all the dj's and staff at Turnmills, you were all part of experience. Tall Paul WE SALUTE YOU!!!! Turnmills, it's been emotional xxxxxxxxxxxxx

victoria stringer From: essex
What a weekend.....we gave the old girl a good old send off. You will always be with me. Love you xxxxx

Pete From: Canada
Wicked times had here -- What a Heavenly Get Together! Brought my girldfriend for her first & last time -- we had a smashing night.. will miss ya!

Kaye From: Nunhead
THANK YOU TURNMILLS! After having been a member for over 8 years, I will really miss the place. Thank you to the staff/bouncers who made turnmills the safest and friendliest club in London. Thank you to all the DJs - especially Sister Bliss, Tall Paul, Corvin Dalek, Steve Lee, TVP and all the other gallery regulars and of course Tom on the door! Thank you for all the friends I've made along the way who are the best friends I could wish for. No other club can ever take your place Turnmills. We'll miss you.

kirsty From: LONDON
Friday 21st March 08 - One of the best nights i've had out! BIG LOVE to everyone who had a fag in the snow and danced till daylight!!! Thanks Brandon Block for your water xxx

ninocka From: guildford, surrey
So it is done ;o( Our last party on friday was rocking good!!!!! And we'll never forget it, just like we wont forget our best parties we had in Turnmills over the past years. Oh my dayssss! Turmills, saturday night 22nd of march was the best night out in london i have ever had. Goodbye to a beautiful place full of banging people. Muchos Love Turnmills,RIP...x

john roche From: northern ireland
Superb club with the very best all round club nights had the pleasure of playing twice and crowd where well up for it. Wont miss the arrogant and unfriendly door staff if they need another job I know a wee pub on the Falls Road.

Heidi Taylor From: Earl's Court London
Trade will never die!!! Trade is like one of those diseases you want, you try it once and you like it so much you want to re-infect yourself OVER & OVER & OVER AGAIN Trade RIP NEVER, I'm just so gutted that I couldn't be there, I so wanted to be there. I love you all from Heidi in Earl's Court. It won't be long before yr back again, we won't let you go without a fight. Love Heidi xx

tony jones From: london
well its over but the memory will live on as a club promoter i will always look back on lifr and thank turmills for all my inspiration with music and people as this was the bonding club for thousands upon thousands of people who had the pleasure of entering it doors a pure feeling of love and you would surely come out of the building with lots more of it than when you first went in the music was second to none and sundays was a night of total feeling and belonging i have to say i have a feeling at the moment of total lose i am sure for those people who were there you will understandwhat i mean one final thing i will always remember you people freinds ect who i shared the magic that it had as tina turner would say simply the best no more to say love you all xx

Ross Mason From: London!
I cant believe this place has shut, so gutted and it still hasnt hit me yet! So disappointed that I couldnt get tickets for any one of the last dance events! Having played in turnmills monthly for Smartie Partie since september, I truely will miss this place like no other, it was the first proper club I DJ'd in as I am only 18 and the memories I hold from this prestigious venue I will keep with me forever. I visited turnmills on seperate occaisions as a clubber and I loved it each an every time. Not a place like it, with its random rooms and hidden gems, I love getting lost in the moment in turnmills, and nothing else matters...I dont believe there will be anywhere to replace it, but hopefully somewhere that can at least replicate the brilliance that was Turnmills. Rave.In.Peace Turnmills, You will be sorely missed! And thank you for the memories! x

Ferdi From: West London
Well, that's it. We've danced the last dance. What a send off. Thank you Turnmills, always in our hearts.

Pete From: London
I met a girl in Turnmills 3 yrs ago and had the night of my life. We`re now married with a baby....thank you Turnmills for the memories.

Mike Striker From: West London
WOW !! The final of The Gallery at Turnmills was amazing - so many top tunes from over the years.. they just kept coming and I could barely tear my self away. Thanks to all the staff, DJ's and the clubbers who gave it a fitting send off. I paused at 7am, looked back at the main floor (still going off like it always has), the laser shooting down the room, the hands stretching up into it and another top tune being dropped and had the biggest smile on my face ! This room I will never forget and it will always raise a smile on my face and an extra beat in my heart. Thanks for the memories and big respect to you all, Mike. My tune of the night: Binary Finary - 1999 (Tall Paul 3am)

Sam From: Newbury
First and last night on Sunday 23rd. Had a fantasic night, the place was buzzin like i imagined it would be. Brilliant brilliant night ... just gutted i didn't get to do it sooner and have gone a few more times! I PETITION TO BRING BACK TURNMILLS SO I CAN HAVE MORE BUZZING NIGHTS!

Elli-Anna Spiropoulou From: Pimlico,London
I am frozen..When I found out the sad news I could`t believe it...Turnmills turned millions of my nights out into an undoubtfully unforgettable experience. All the best djs(TIESTO,ASKEW,BUUREN,JULE,TALL PAUL,CHEMICAL BROTHTERS,ETC...) that I could dream of performed there. Was lucky enough to share those nights with them. That pavement and the wall beside Anexo were so memorable when I was waiting numerous nights to get in.I remember I use to go there with all the girl gang of mine, the doorman with those haski-like blue eyes used to remember me as well.We always use to say that we should go somewhere else for a change every Friday but never did! I use to call it a guaranteed fun night out.Even the securities and the guys that used to clean the floor from bottles had fun and found time to dance as well. All those trips into this other planet that turnmills hosted were amazing.Distictively unique and different than other clubs..Maybe one day turmills baby will grow in another corner of clerkenwell road.. Farewell, Turnmills-I WILL MISS U A LOT AND WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE MARK YOU LEFT IN MY HEART!!!!

Vicky From: Reigate
Thankyou that was absolutely without doubt the BEST night I've had for years - bought back many many happy memories. Long may it continue x

Can't get over it, feel a real sense of loss. Some of my best nights ever were at Turnmills. A light has gone out in clubland. Hope the spirit lives on. Best venue, best people, best music. xx

Charlotte Cowell From: Berkhamsted
Turnmills is one of the most legendary clubs of all time and I've had some very memorable nights there. In fact, one particular night made such an impression that I've written about it in a book! From what has to be the best venue in London, Turnmills has come up with the goods through thick and thin and kept the world turning through a universe of dance music. The open-minded attitudes and musical policy of the people running the club have always been a credit to the scene, it's a place where true house lovers can go to feel free. I hope everyone at The Last Dance can give Turnmills the brilliant send off it deserves and that the spirit of the movement lives on forever. I know it's gonna be awesome in there tonight..... Power to the people! CharlotteXXX

Few years ago Turnmills was like my second house; I worked there and spent great moments with my friends, my boyfriend and all co-workers. I'll allways remember you! My best dancing moments ever, in the dj box or on the dance floor! Shame I didn't make it for the closing weekend... Enjoy the last one for me, please! Love from Barcelona!

Can't believe Turnmills is closing, gutted. Was there last night rocking it to fatboy slim and the chemical brothers. What a great night, but made me sad as my fave club is closing down! No other club compares to Turnmills, everything about it was unique! Legendary club!

Billabong From: Brighton
Great Night. Fatboy was the best. Will be sorry to see the legendary place go, except for the aggressive head doorman at the end of the night who thought I was being rude to one of his fellow colleagues (all I asked was how he was doing ?), thereafter got roughly bounced out and our taxi cancelled, which put a dampener on the whole night to be honest.

Tim From: Russia, Omsk.
Good club, good music, smiles on faces, people and dances all night through. Great time in great place.

Perry From: London
Won't be the same without you. Thanks for all the memories!

Graham Drennan From: Cambridge
Big Love to all at Turmills! Thanks for the special times, always a subterranian pleasure.Kept the basics right,Proper club.Reminded me of old school nights when acid house rocked my world- c'ant think of a place in London that had that very often. Lots of dancing on tables (David Holmes upstairs with retro cool beats), lottsa smiles (Fatboy Slim tearin up the floor after a Massive Attack gig)and the odd knowing wink To those house heads- keep keepin on. Drenzen X.

Matty B From: London
So, so sorry to see Turnmills closing down. I've seen plenty of clubs come and go over the years but the closure of Turnmills is the one that really hurts. It was the first proper club I ever went to (1994 - Eurobeat 2000). I've been to so many Gallery birthdays over the years, the years have passed by in a flash. The lineups on a Friday night - each and every Friday night - could not be topped. The one London club that made us Londoners proud and a real challenger to the Midlands/Northern superclubs. I still cherish my Gallery CD's from 1998 (that Tall Paul live mix is the one!). Hope everybodys enjoys the final weekend of events. I can't make it but said my goodbyes 2 weeks ago. See you all at MoS!

Matt From: Angel
Many many happy nights in Turnmills. Very sad I can't be there on the last night as tickets sold out but hope everyone has a suitably good night. Lol & fond memories. Certainly the end of a long & enjoyable era!

i am really going to miss the old place, i couldn't make it down to tunrmills for the final weekend, but the place was my clubbing home for so long over the 10 years that i have been clubbing.i remember some awesome nights, from the 4th and ninth birthdays to the time parks and wilson were playing with nick warren to what wasn't the busiest night, but the atmosphere was rocking and being bumbutted buy howard marks made it all the more bizarre. and then ights at heavenally social, trade, elements and becomeone as wellas some others. goodbye turnmills you will be sorely missed. thank you danny and the rest of the crew there. top job

Gavin Aiken From: London
Thanks for some of the best nights of my life. Turnmills has set the standards and will be sorely missed. I have been lucky enough to get a Heavenly get together ticket for Saturday. Without being dramatic this must be one of the greatest DJ lineups ever in a UK club..........it's going to be emotional, lets give turmills a fitting farewell and rock a fat one!!

Caro Davies From: The Edge
What can I say about this institution that shaped my adult life? This place in which I met my lifelong friends, the love of my life - who later proposed to me on that darkened dance floor! The place where we had the deepest darkest conversations about life, the universe and everything and we danced until we felt weak at the knees... although that was probably induced by something other than just dancing! In between 1995 and 1996 alone, we clocked up 36 weeks in a row at Turnmills on a Friday night. The Gallery was our spiritual home and I loved every second I spent there. Last night, Friday 21st March 2008 was my final night out at the Gallery... and what a night!! Thanks guys for all the hard work you've all put into the last 13 years - especially Paul, Danny, Sandy and Tom (on the door)! Last night was a fitting end to the best dance night in London and an equally fitting end to my dancing days (and maybe my misspent youth?!). To Turnmills and all who rocked in her... I salute you xxx PS - Thanks for playing Café Del Mar for that last time!! I shed a little tear - it was so emotional!!

Jane From: Sheerness

Stuart From: London
Just a thank you to all the Turnmills crew for so many great gallery nights. And now even with your impending move to MoS, Clerkenwell will always remain the true home of the Gallery. Gone but not forgotten!

Gareth P From: Cambridge
I can honestly say out of all the clubs in London there is no place like Turnmills. I have been lucky over the years to experience several hedonistic nights at the Gallery with Tall Paul and the like. I have been fortunate enough to spend Satursday's at London Calling with superb house music from the likes of Bob Sinclar, CJ Mackintosh and Danny Rampling. Turnmills is a peoples place, unpretentious and yet still so cool. The place, the music, the atmosphere it really was one of London's finest...a true club. For those of you that Turnmills has a special place in your heart i know that it will be sadly missed. I missed the tickets to the closing party and sadly won't be there to say goodbye; but i know those of you that will be there will do it proud and raise the roof just like any other night at the fabulous, beautiful yet still underground Turnmills.

Rekha From: London
Farewell Turnmills, can't believe it's then end. Had some great times, made some amazing friends, still friends 10 years later. The Door staff were always sweet, will never forget the first time we ventured to The Gallery and the doorman gave us umbrellas when it started raining. Turmills RIP, may you live forever in our memories.xxxxxxxxxx

Brian From: Kentish Town
Thank you Turnmills for all those majestical nights. I will always have a special place in my heart for the entity that is Gallery at Turnmills. I will dance 'til dawn on Friday and again on Sunday when I will shed a tear at the loss of a great friend. Love and Peace. Brian. x

Paul O'Keeffe From: New Cross, London
Will be there tonight to say fairwell. My wife is going too which is where we knew on a night at the Gallery that we would be together. Looking forward to tonight and also to the new home of MOS which is 15 mins from me :) Have fun people.

Having been a resident DJ at Turnmills for Smartie Partie for the last 2 years, i will be very sad to see Turnmills close! I was lucky enough to play a 2 hour set in the main room, just 2 weeks before it closed for good (at the Smartie Party closing party). Turnmills is also very close to my heart, as it's where, alongside my co-promoters (Jason and Drew), we launched our own promotion/brand - 'Licked'. The Juno room was where 'Licked' was born and will always hold a very special place in our hearts!!!! Thanks to everyone i met at Turnmills during my 2 years of DJing there!!! All the sound crew, security, door staff etc.... You've all been great! Thanks for putting up with me!!! Lol..... Turnmills - R.I.P..... xx

Turnmills was my first club I have visited in London and it is the best for me still.

colin From: London
Reading through the huge number of mails and being a Turnmills regular for 10 years it shows how important the club is and was to the London scene. People met their best friends, wives and husbands there (Zoe Ball and a certain Norman Cook got together there). I'm sure the government breathed an ill informed sigh of relief when the closure was announced, but having safe, well run venues such as Turnmills gives people an environment to express themselves and enjoy the pleasures of growing up in this age. People from different backgrounds, races and sexuality mixed happily together and surely thats more telling than anything the government have intentially created; I bet a few members of the cabinet have done a cheeky one on the floor at the Gallery, or more likely Trade! I find it refreshing to see the DJ's who have played there writing candidly about their experiences, especially Sister Bliss, who said her first time DJing at Trade was more exciting than being at number 1 with Faithless! Btw, writing this on Friday, there's a full moon which just adds to the anticipation of the final weekend. See you on the floor this Sunday and lots of cheering please, till you can't cheer no more! x

Gary From: South East London

Turnmills is a club that always goes that extra mile, infact if you added up all the extra miles they have gone youd be in space right now, this club has hosted more djs than youve had hot dinners. Its a club that would never say no to a clubber and would open for all to enjoy the best djs and dance music in the world, the only club to have its own recording studio hidden away in that massive dancefloor maze, people walked past it in the club, but very few knew it was there, i remember my first night in london, i went to a club nearby which was pretty good and ended up at Turnmills at 5am in the morning, i just couldnt beleive that this club opened at 5am, yes it was that legendary sellout 'Trade' the sunday morning early hours party that went on for ever, it never ended, i loved it, it was pure hard thumpin dance music, hard house, techno, trance, u named it and trade played it, it was from then that i got addicted to the turnmills thing, every friday or saturday or sunday i would be there showing my apreciation to judge jules and the gallery gang, i will never forget the smartie parties, the houseology (HOUSEOLOGY WAS THE BEST FUNKY HOUSE PARTY IVE EVER BEEN TO), then i remember the TOGETHER parties, i rememember the bar where you could get a baloon of happy gas, and i remember the sports day where you had to dress as a sportman etc and all them nights that hosted djs such as BOB SINCLAR,DAVID GUETTA,DANNY RAMPLING,JUDGE JULES,TALL PAUL, SISTER BLISS, DAVE SEAMAN, JON CARTER, BOBBY & STEVE, PAUL VAN DYKE, TIESTO, RED JERRY, The list goes on. A massive shoutout to all those people that i knew that worked there, including the people that stood by the doors for 10 hours, the bouncers and security that used to dance on the stairs, the big dark security man with the fasinating blue eyes! the licencee geezer of the place who had the best job in the world, he just had to be there for the club to be open! massive shoutout to all the people on the bars, the cloakrooms, the reseraunt, annexo, massive shoutout to SEB, TERRY, NICK, DANNY AND CO!!!!! People are gunna chain themselves to the doors when this club closes, its gunna be heart breaking to see that door finnally close after 20 plus years, its like having your family home knocked down to rouble and your parents being taken away from you, BUT life goes on, and im sure turnmills will lead to better things, the soul of turnmills will never go away and will always be with you, im gunna miss turnmills like mad, and i end my statement there, with love, and lots of it alex :)

Dear Turnmills, What can I say? Gutted, absolutely gutted :( For my mates and I, over the last 10 years, Turnmills has always provided the best and most progressive clubbing experiences in the capital. Thank you! From the magical rush of that first London Calling, we knew it was the one club we would come back to time and time again - and you never let us down! Too many nights to mention but EVERY ONE WAS A STONKER! So many special memories, such a friendly, bullsh*t-free vibe, the maddest and most loved-up party people, superb staff, supa-bazooka DJ sets that would leave us floating on sunshine for days... what a wonderfully twisted journey it's been :D F*ck Will Smith. Turnmills - YOU are LEGEND. Hope everyone has an EPIC last dance! Bless up and best wishes for the future! Peace.

When i was in my mid 20's, my bf at the time and his mates kept going on about 'Turnmills of Clerkenwell', their favorite nightclub, they tried to take me there on a few occasions but i thought i was past the clubbing age. I'm in my early 30's now and 2 years ago, i randomly ended up in a London electro nightclub, got hooked on it and very quickly discovered Turnmills. Since then, i have been to so many Gallery nights; in fact i have almost only been to Turnmills and if it wasn't for it i probably wouldn't club at all. I loved the atmosphere, the laidback attitude of the clubbers and staff. And of course, the music! It never ever failed to deliver and i can honestly say i have never had a bad night there. I hate speaking about it in the past, i was there only a few days ago and am dreading the Last dance. Please don't go! What are we going to do without you Turnmills? Fridays will never be the same again. I just want to say many many many thanks for all the fun nights i've had in your premises. My clubbing days in Turnmills will stay with me forever. YOU ROCKED!!! XXX

As I pen this farewell message with a tear in my eye, I just wanted to express the deepest gratitude to all the folks at Turnmills. To the DJ's, promoters, staff (esp the cab drivers), THANK YOU! You all made the club what it is today. A night at Turnmills was a guaranteed cracker night and always attracted a kind and friendly audience. London has lost its finest club and clubbing will never be the same. However, instead of dwelling on the fact its closing, lets rejoice and give Turnmills the send off it deserves... to go out with a BANG! Caroline Davies From: London
Well, well... In between 1995 and 1996 we clocked up 36 weeks in a row at Turnmills on a Friday night. The Gallery was our spiritual home and I loved every second I spent there. Friday 21st March 2008 will be a blast... a fitting end to the first Super-club and an equally fitting end to my dancing days (and maybe my misspent youth?!). To Turnmills and all who rocked in her... I salute you xxx

I'm in the process of completing a rota at my work...making sure i'm off sunday night as my friend has just offered me a place on his guestlist, i'm waiting a reply from a co-worker giving me the go-ahead. I'm a bag of nerves. Turnmills was the first club to give me my london debut as a dj warming up on for anil chawla & nic fancuilli of which i'm extremly grateful, the memory will stay with me forever along with some of the best nights out i've ever had. Roll on sunday!!!

Mark J From: Brighton
So many fond memories of this place, so many nights. I saw so many of my favourite DJ's here. I'll never forget this club, there will never be another one like it. Best night there? Personally for me, has to be Steve Lawler, 23rd December 2005. Magic! Thanks to G from Audio Jackers, and Anil for there outstanding residencies. Thanks to all the DJ's and producers who put so much into the club. And finally thanks to all the punters, the friendliest most up for it crowd in London, it's you guys who made every night in turnmills seem so special.

Nigel Parsons From: Lweisham
Well looks like I'll be missing the weekend's fun, damn those tickets went fast. I've got so many great memories of Turmmills, my first big club night after moving to London was the opening night of Heavenly Jukebox, (I still have the free 7inch) and it was the club where I met 2 of my, (now ex), girlfriends. I'm sorry to see you close and for those of you who are going, reach an extra bit higher for the lasers for me.

Hubert From: London
Soooo sad.. dont close. Turnmills was the best club in London for normal people who loved good music and a chilled out crowd. You cant just leave us with all the champagne drinking posh banker S*it clubs and the crap music they play.. London wont be the same without you, so many personal memories... I'm sad..

Douggie From: Cambridge
My first time at Turnmills will be it's last night, looking forward to expereincing it before it's resigned to the history books, heard so much about it

Felipe Jaramillo From: Colombia
Im really sorry for this. I went only once to this amazing place...absolutely one of the best places for electronic music..

Sonny From: London
don't close - it was a standard good night out! Where the hell am i supposed to go now!! It was amazing while it lasted...

Cryogenesis - 007 From: London
Best place to set your soul for some euphoria! Who needs drugs when we got Djs like Markus Schulz or Armin Van Buuren. Simply saying, Turnmills is where the sound comes together with everyones aura.

Anil Chawla From: London
Turnmills is my second home, and I've met many friends there... Too many nights to mention but loved the City Loud/Fandango/Release Yourself/Get Loaded times, to the more eclectic 'Together' moments, and of course being at The Gallery on countless occasions at 7am, and not quite knowing what's going on. I bid you farewell.

Simon From: London
So long and thanks for all the fish

Andre Serra From: Sao Paulo - Brazil
All I wanted right now was a few bucks to fly to London in order not to miss the last The Gallery ever! For those who are going, please, waste yourselves, dance till the last second, enjoy this night which will probably be one of the best nights in your lives! Make this party unforgettable! (I still can't understand why it's closing down!) I will miss that place and all those freaking lasers and the music and the people and the vibe... Godspeed! I WILL FUCKING MISS IT!

Simply amazing nights there... staggering out at 7am to the tube after our bodies and mind have been blown away is quite a feeling.

THE ULTIMATE RAVER From: LONDON
I went to TurnmillS CIRCA 1990 when Robert Pereno hosted the Saturday night and a certain Seb Fontaine was playing. I always remember Frankie Knuckes 'Your Love' being played. Strange how things come full circle. My last night at Turnmills will finish by listening to him. Cannot wait. Best club in the whole wide world. An atmosphere like no where else. Its sad to be walking down those stairs for one last dance. THE BASSLINE. THE BEAT. BIG KISSES FOR MAGDA (HOPE SHE WILL BE THERE) Sandy, Ed and Gavyn. Be prepared!!

Tight on style, loose on ID. Turnmills - I salute you, my friends salute you, for the first forays into nightworld, for subsquent forays and the forays to come, for embedding a sense of style, love and fairness into the otherwise dull friday nights, for making the awkward gangly teenagers into disco kings each and every time...and I know I am not the only one that thinks like this. Gurnmills - you will be missed.

Having attended Turnmills for the last 16 years for Trade, The Gallery, Release Yourself, London Calling and Garage City, I just want to say thanks to all involved for some of the best clubbing experiences. It would take me too long to go through my favourite nights / days but, rest assured, Turnmills will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. So, to the DJs, management, door and barstaff, cloakroom guys and gals and, most of all, the BEST crowd in London - thanks for making that two-hour train journey back to East Anglia oh-so- worth it. Much love Debbo x

Damon From: Chislehurst
I was so shocked to hear the news.Aah those nights! Many years ago back in 1994/5. Started off at a friends monthly club night in New Cross, then a car load of us would travel to Turnmills. Stayed till the end and tried to peek a look at the dj's in the booth in the back room. I'll add you to my book of memoirs along with other clubs like Club Uk. Tears and kisses.

louise putt From: belfast
i couldnt believe it when i heard of the closer. im taking my boyfriend over for the night for his birthday to experience a night he will never forget. im not a regular guest but i had the pleasure of experiencing the 8 hour set that armin van burren did a good few years back. i just had to go to one of the final nights. i cant wait. only a club of your brilliance make this a moment i will talk about for years to come. so long guys, party on!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xxxxxx love lou

Kathryn From: London
It really saddens me that this place is leaving london club land, it was such an asset, it really is a unique club, not just in its decor but in its atmosphere and people. Im just proud to have been apart of it. I think we all will have our own individual memories of this place, and after the bricks and morter have gone, its these memories that will live on. What the Hacienda was to Manchester, Turnmills will be to London, a memory, a legend, an historical myth. The Turnmills beats RIP

darren garner From: sussex
i will miss the friendly people and fantastic music. thanks to all the people who made the club what it is. i have more than 10yrs of memories there. i wish i could have made all 3 final nights. but i will be there this friday.

From: North London
A dull thud of the 4 4 beat tingling from my hands to my feet a drag of the fag in the biting wind be nice bouncer, let me in. Descending the stairs, a musky smell the 4 4 thud begins to swell angels smiling, sweaty guys i have arrived, it's in my eyes. The basement, cozy loud and clear mouths chirping drinking beer pills changing hands and being dropped random toilets, lines being chopped I love my days down at the mill eating techno getting my fill sticky dancefloors, smiling faces cans of red stripe, tequila chases London, clerkenwell never the same not without this wonderful game beans, ketamine, top notch gear lasers, lights, the atmosphere Green waves through the mist this is the home of the hedonist spinning, rolling off my mind never again this place you'll find. anon

carlos caldeira From: london

AndyC From: Stevenage
Well, Easter is almost upon us, and it will soon be the end of those crazy Friday nights at Gallery. Rushing home from work to get changed and out ready for madness. Such a great club, superb attention to detail on the decor, the best, and friendliest staff and clubbers. The memories of Above and Beyond, Paul Van Dyk amongst many many others tearing the place up, queing for 4 hours to get in for Tiesto (before i discovered the membership benefits!), Gav's awesome closing sets of pure dirtyness mixed in with all-time classics. The spine tingles on the numerous occasions he's dropped 'Motorcycle' at the end of the night will always live on...now to the end, and new memories at Ministry. Thanks all, it's been emotional! See you down the front on Friday and Sunday. x

Crispy King From: Clapham, London
Dear Turnmills, You started me off in to the world of dance and since 2001 I've had the most amazing times at your place. It is a real shame to see you go. You'll be remembered for generations to come (well, as long as our memories still work) C

Karry From: Athens

Doug White From: Bristol
John Newman was always a very pleasant guy to chat with and hats off to him for creating something that many of will remember always. A landmark in gay clubbing, Sundays & Mondays in the 90's were quite a mess but oh so fun! Thanks and hugs to all.

James Cain From: Chigwell, Essex
Turnmills is the greatest venue I have ever, and will ever have gone to. I had the best nights of my life there!Where ever will all the famous names go to now? RIP TURNMILLS!

Sian Blake From: Kent
Had some amazing nights at Turnmills over the years, there's no other place quite like it, London clubland will be a sadder place without you! From Nic Fanciulli's wicked Fandango parties in Room 2 to some awesome SOS parties, and a few messy NYE's, I've really loved clubbing there. Will miss the venue, the staff and the whole vibe of the dear old place. xxx

Guy From: London
Where it all started! Many, many fond memories. Will be there to finish it all off!!

Laura From: Coulsdon, Surrey
Thank you for being the place where I spent a great night with my ex-boyfriend - this place will be special in my heart forever, like him. x x

COLIN AND JULES From: Wadesmill, Ware, Hertfordshire
Where do we start!! FFirstly; a BIG thankyou to TOM the bouncer, who has monitored and kept the doors safe and effecient all night long, in all weathers!! (We sincerely hope he manages The Gallery night at MOS...) Inside; The attention to detail at Mills has always been amazing, such simple things as Party balloons...but the lighting and Ambience in the members room will be sorely missed....Thanks to you ALL, from the management, to the hard working bar/toilet staff....FINALLY, can you take some your ideas of decor to MOS, and give them some ideas on how to make The BOX something more than a BOX!!! ie: Lighting for a start, AND a DJ booth that offers the punters a glimpse of our boys and girls in Action....If so, we might come along....Sad days....but SEE YOU FRIDAY TOM (With the champagne!!)

julie and paul From: clacton on sea
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!How can u do this to us Turnmills is not just a building but a religion to us old timers who where there in the dayz of space...remember good old friday night/saturday morning crazyness only to go home have a bath and return for saturday night/sunday morning crazyness...we are in mourning...goodbye Turnmills...forever. julie and paul

Well done for lasting this long. Let's face it, if it wasn't for Trade then you wouldn't be as rich as you are today. I'm sure your have a nice break & maybe come back with some great new VENUE. Thanks Turnmills.

Paul From: Leicester
I only went to Turnmills once, about 6 years ago. What a party! Paul van Dyk played an awesome mammoth set. We left as the sun was beaming down on us. I happened to walk past it the other week whilst I was on business in London and a rush of pure emotion flooded me. What a shame this truly historic club is closing. Thanks for an amazing memory that will stay with me forever x

Lea From: Chesterfield
Altho I have only a few memories of nights at The Gallery, they have to be some of the best clubbin memories I will ever have...sad loss but hopefully you'll be on to bigger and better things????? Almost gone but never forgtten. xxx

Nick From: Kent
This place was the 1st "proper" club I went to about 8 years ago and i've never been to anywhere where the atmosphere, people and music has been better. My mates and me have had some of the best nights ever going to Turnmills and we're all so upset to hear that its being re-developed. A tear will definitely be shed on the 22nd!

Rizwan Baig From: London, Paddington
Well after countless memorable nights at turnmills, i can easily say that turnmills is, and will be the best club ever in UK. Nothing can ever match the feelings which turnmills give to all its lovers. Best of luck to the gallery at MOS,

Groovy Gav From: London
Wow That's one hell of a post

Andy From: London
Went to the Trade Last Dance. What a great night bringing back lots of great memories. Thank you for providing the definitive venue for Trade over the years, the many many parties and for enabling a fantastic final blast. I hope the final weekend goes just as well.

Ahmed Hegazi From: Cambridge, Cardiff at the mo

Matthew & Ayumu From: Islington
Fond wishes for the last dance!

Michelle From: Manchester
I can’t believe one of the best clubs in the U.K is closing, with its great sound system and even greater nights. Its how real clubs should strive to be...

David From: Reading
I had my first rave at Turnmills and it was incredible. The atmosphere the club generates and the names it attracts is magnificent and i'm so gutted its closing down. I've had, by far, some of my best nights at the club and I would do anything to stop it closing down :( Farewell Turnmills!

Gary Thomson From: London
R.I.P Turnmills...March 23rd 2008 Forever in our thoughts. You'll be missed.

Darren Pierce From: London
To the Newmans. Thanks for having a special club in the 12 years i have been clubbing. Trade, Melt, The Well and also Warriors were all fantastic nights and will always be remembered. I was there for the last Trade at Turnmills and once again NEVER disappointed. The staff are great and the Venue is a legend. Turnmills will be missed very very very much. Good luck!

Chris From: Watford
To Danny and all the staff, I used to club loads through my late teens and twenties and discovered The Gallery @ Turnmills when i was 21 not long after meeting my now wife of 12 yrs. You've given us some great memories, we always had the BEST, QUALITY nights raving it up! We used to think of it as our 'special occasion' club, you know like b'days and anneversaries or just a treat from the norm 'cos you guys never ever let us down! We also made some friends for life there and we'll be reminiscing about you club for the rest of our days. Thanks and good luck. Hopefully we'll make it down over the w'end.

alexcn From: London
Turnmills always taught us "it's never about the money!" and yet now, the owners of this amazing venue have SOLD OUT! I am still reeling at the fucking pathetic reasons I am hearing from all over London - the club COULD have been saved and allowed for the redevelopment of that piece of shit building above. Newmans: you really have made a huge mistake and deprived so many people of all that was special in clubland!

Maki From: Tokyo
Turnmills! I shall miss you very VERY V-E-R-Y much and you'll always be remembered as my bestest London club where I got so 'highly educated' dance musicwise (especially trancewise). Without you I really coud not have known much about 'proper/real' music and developed this ability to sense and tell the next killer tunes on the floor. To me you're like Oxford of dance music really! Many thanx and big goodbye kisses from Miss trancy angel.

vilson Oliver From: clerkenwell
I know turmills back in the 1990, since then my nights turned into a rollercoast of pleasurable moments. It's sad to see the back of you...

AndyC From: Guildford
Thank you, i'll be there for the last dance for closure after a decade of wickedness. The Gallery gave me the most amazing moments with my soulmate Miki, friends and friends of friends. Met the Barnstable crew here who still have a special place in my heart, cheers Coxy Boy and Wicksey... Can't think it will be the same at the Ministry (too clean and not enough nooks and cranies, walking down those stairs was TOP, what a start to a night out, enveloping yourself in bodies, beats and the promise of better things to come.

Kieran Randell From: London.
This is the end, my friend the end. I'll never listen to your tunes again...... Turnmills can now take it's place in music history as legend that will be remembered by all those who have rocked thier socks off in a packed, sweaty and dark T1. Thanks for all those good times and happy memories, you will not be forgotten. Goodbye my friend.

Miriam From: London
I had the most amazing nights out in london at the gallery @ turnmills - it's so sad that you're closing. Why??? I just moved to london and suddenly you're gone.... But as others already said: I hope you'll realize your mistake and will be with us again soon ;-) So long, I can only hope that a lot of people that ususally went to the gallery at turnmills will come to the ones at ministry of sound to bring some of the turnmills vibe to this venue and show them how to really rock (well, ehm trance). See you there at AvB and thanks a lot for such a great time at this amazing and friendly place. You will always stay in my mind...

I love Turnmills, its by far the best club for dance music and I'm going to miss it so much because it has lots of memories for me, with me going out with all my ravers. Its amazing...I'm really upset that its all over! The 14th March @ Mills was probably the best night of my life. Lmao no lie.

What can I say to make you stay??? London just won't be the same without you! First The Cross and now Turnmills, London's clubbers clubbing scene is drawing it's last breath! Looks like the end of an amazing era. Hope you realise the mistake you are making, and will be back soon!!

The_Bibe From: France - Paris - Limoges
I lived in London for 3years and the carziest times I had were at ur place, which i still qualify as the DJ's temple. Because we entered this era of prohibition on Tobacco. I think the place must have changed already. I don't want to be melancolic but I hope the Turnmills will ressucite in a way after this last Dance where I sadly can't come. Big Bisous from France xxx

Ingo Muniz Sabage From: London
I´ve been just one time in Turnmills. But was enough to know that was the best club ever. And maybe it will never be beaten. Goodbye and good memories will remain forever.

When I heard Turnmills was closing down, I was so shocked it was the saddest moment of my life and still can't get over it. Why are you doing this? Why? Why? Why? Turnmills is The best club in London, the first club i ever went to when i first came to London and since then had many many crazy and absolutely fantastic mind blowing nights there and became a big fan of The Gallery. Really shame won't be there for the last gallery night since the tickets are all sold out. I am very disappointed and heartbroken :(

7 DAYS TO GO BEFORE THE BIGGEST NIGHT THIS YEAR KICKING OFF WITH - JULES, SISTER BLISS, TALL PAUL, SEB FONTAINE & GAV MYTCHEL, THEN MONDAY AFTER THE DEPRESSION WILL SETTLE IN AS TURNMILLS WILL BE GONE FOR GOOD. THIS WILL BE A HARD 'PILL' TO SWALLOW. GOOD LUCK

Scally From: liverpool
The BEST night out in England, some boss memories, Nice one lads and lasses. Gutted its closing, London will never be the same again. :(

Rizlabruva From: London
It was bound to happen eventually - the rumours had been going around for the last few years... Still, a great shame.. I can remember being at the Gallery's 4th Birthday and Tall Paul's epic set - upon leaving we were given videos as a present from the Gallery. The days of Lind'e doing the memberships desk (in the hatch where the main loo's are) were the best, you could always stop by and have a chat to her. Top girl. Wonder how she's doing... The days of the media lounge having plain red walls and the hieroglyphics on the top of the walls in gold leaf.. Then there's Michael, the Irish till guy - what a lovely lovely bloke - happened to see him at many many Trades, bouncng around smiling. So much changed in Turnmills, so many people came and went - like a brothel! The standout characters from the club for me personally were Alex Anderson - dedicated and sincere guy, wicked wicked DJ, Sandy from the middle office - again, totally sincere and a true gent. Dave - the best doorman the venue could ever have.... nuff said. Gerry (or 'Gee')- the former sound and light guy - hippy legend.. Steve Lee - absolute genius and lastly Mr Newman snr (RIP) for all the right reasons. RIP Turnmills

You were my first, my last my everything!! Long shall you reign in the dreams of many like-minded euphoric people!! We Love you Turnmills!!!

Andy P From: Devon
Just another example of someone cashing in on property prices in London. Absolutely gutted Turnmills is closing, one of the first clubs i went to. Such a stupid thing to be doing when its easy to see what a following it has. Cant see how its not a viable business. Wish i had the money to buy and keep it open. It was also one of my best mates first proper clubs to dj in. Its not right!! IM SO ANGRY!! TURNMILLS FOR EVER

brian martyniuk From: twickenham

Just want to say thankyou to all the staff at turnmills who have ensured i have a great night every time i step through the door - to say i feel safe is an understatement... feels like home!!! also want to thank Alvin for cranking up that laser every night as the clock strikes 12 - I'm sure people swarm to the main room just to see that!!! It is the end of an era but i hope there will, one day, be a club that has the same vibe as the mills long live Turnmills

Clinton Solomon From: Cape Town, South Africa
To the Turnmills owners and management Thank you for the best clubbing nights of my life!! It's really sad that a dance institution like Turnmills has to close. Turnmills will always be alive in my memories. I will always tell everyone that I used to go to the greatest Trance club in the World. All the best and have an Epic Final Weekend. I'm sad that I won't be there to join in the final party, but know this...Trance will never die!! Again thank you Cheers Clinton Solomon

Sammy From: London
I am absolutely GUTTED, i cant even put into words how devastated i am to be losing this place. There's no club ive ever been like it. The consistently top notch music, and out-of-this world laser shows, wicked crowds, and superb atmosphere... Ive been to every Gallery night religiously since i heaard the news it was closing (bar one) and i will be there for the final weekend, (fri, sat and sunday) from open to close, on one hand i cant wait, on the other hand im dreading it. What a goddamn shame this is happening :( There will most deff be teardrops on the dancefloor this easter. :'( xx

Davinia Latham From: bury st edmunds

Turnmills + Trade = The best club night in the world ever! I had some of the best nights of my life in that place. I will miss you. P.S Can I have that lazer?

Andee Mac From: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Hi there, I'm shocked, stunned and sad to hear about Turnmills closing. I bought The Gallery 3cd mix album nearly 10 years ago(Tall Paul, Sister Bliss and Mark Jones) and after hearing that, went along to see if it was up to expectations. Was it? Bloody hell, yeah! I loved all the oversized decor, mirrorballs, lights, THAT laser and of course the people, who were always friendly down there. Favourite djs of Turnmills:- Darren Christian Sister Bliss Oliver Klien Scott Bond Seb Fontaine Smokin Jo It was one of my ambitions to dj there myself, one day.. oh well! Thankyou Turnmills for some amazing nights! Andee Mac

luis henrique bechelli From: brazil
Cant believe its closing!!!!....miss turnmills

Petra Hughes From: N1
I was so sad to hear the news that I shed a little tear! I spent pretty much every weekend for 7 years in Turnmills- some of the best times of my life were in that place. I know it's cheesey to say it, but at its best Turnmills/The Gallery was a community, not just a club. I can still just about remember The Gallery's 3rd birthday- little did I know then that I'd still be there for the 10th! Time moves on and both Turnmills & I have passed our clubbing best, but it's still sad to reach the end of an era. Thanks Paul, Danny, Tom-on-the-door and Sandy for some of the best memories of my life. Loads of luck with whatever you go on to do next. I'm glad I was a part of it. X

Johnny Preece From: Surrey

Oh so sad! What is to become of Clubland in London... as the developers move in and turn the whole damn place into expensive flats. After 5 years or so, I had just about mastered the layout, as well... and it just seems to be getting better and better with together and vvvwi and so on. Something very english about Turnmills as well... hard to explain. So - the place will be missed, sorely.

This venue was my home for so long. It was my first proper night out in England, I remember it as if it was today, Hernan Cattaneo was on with some cutting edge progressive house. Second with crowd pleasing Eddie Halliwell's fire it up...will never forget, I was a member of the gallery for whole of 2007 and when I first got to know it's closing I felt emptiness...Will be waiting for the next venue impatiently! TURNMILLS FOREVER!!!

please give me 2 tickets or I may cry as my favourite club in London for past 5 years :-(

James Macdonald From: Dagenham
What can I say? Possibly the saddest news in my life to date! I love Turnmills with all my heart and always will. I'm not altogether sure if the landlord actually knows how loved and appreciated Turnmills is/was? (which i might add is more important than money!) Maybe I'll go to his favourite spot one day and put a desk and a computer there, there should be a stand and people should refuse to leave the club (whats the worst that can happen, getting barred?), i might also add here there should be an afterparty on the bank holiday monday, im not bothered about headliners, i just want to be on the hallowed turnmills dancefloor. I love you all x

franciso From: mexico
its a pity turnmills is closing... so many good times great musica my best times in london were there...ill always remember my first time with paul oakenfold

Barry and Paul From: Kent
It was always the best place to go. I first went there helping to sell burgers from a van outside. I eventually went inside and had the time of my life. I use to go late on Saturdays when Trade was on and earlier on Sundays. I used to work nearby and Monday mornings and go straight to work afterwards. I couldn't do that now! My partner and I use to go regular and over the years we fell in love, not only with the venue, but each other also. We are still together after nearly 15 years, it is shame the place couldn't stay open longer as well. Perhaps it, like me, is a little too long in the tooth to "club it" hard and fast like we used to!! Fairwell then, it always was and will be a special place for me. Full of really interesting and good memories, if you know what I mean.

Neil From: London
So many happy nights/mornings particularly at Melt (RIP). Thanks and big love my heros: Blu Peter, Rachael Auburn, Daz Saund, Jon Dennis, Fidel, Dave Cross, Malcolm Duffy, Alan Thompson, Fat Tony, George and Steve Sharp, Paul Christian ... and anyone I might have missed off the list.

Alfonso Medina From: London
Arriving to Turnmills was (still is goddamit!) a very unique experience... From the queue outside in the cold, the rain, the wind... to passing the security control... and either go to the bar upstairs or straight downstairs... the music starts to get higher.. the vibe is there... on the left the small room - people just loving it... go past the door and the 'space' room looms... it's all good there; the stairs busy... the music loud... people smiling. happy. go round the back to the cloackroom... people chilling out... leave the jacket take a left through a small door... and another room is rocking... happy. and then to heaven... people jump... time stops... it's all green... i'm happy. peace... love... heat... heart beat... music... Turnmills.

s From: London
I have to leave another message again. i get this strange sinking feeling in my stomach and also want to be sick along with my heart hurting. i feel like a small cry in my office at work knowing that my fav club night the gallery and venue is to vanish in 2 weeks time. Im so gutted for us all

Farewell Turnmills, my second home away from life for the past 10 years or so, i suppose i had better start living a little. I will certainly miss you.

Paul Williams From: East London
It will be a sad day when Turnmills shuts it's doors for the last time. Great sound, great light systems and always great line ups. You will be missed Turnmills and will probably be replaced with some new, soulless, box-room "super" clubs :-(

COLIN From: London
Walking down the stairs after hearing the thump of the music from the street, into the unknown, feels like home. The Gallery in the earlier days was amazing, room 2 was the place, remembering sets from Ariel, Tom Stephan's Superchumbo, Tall Paul, Fandango, Stu Patterson and Choci dropping Rob Base into Deelite. The crowd looking confused and wide eyed as two men had sex on the dance floor! Crazy times; Rampling playing an amazing warm up on 5th Birthday, Steve Thomas dropping Runaway, Steve Lee dropping Expander at 6am, Mistress Barbara smashing it on 3 decks. Times move on, we get older and Gallery looses its magic, room 2 not the place it was. Looking forward to seeing Rampling, Farley and Heller, Ashley B and one of the original residents, DJ Lottie in room 2, hoping it's the old crowd from the early days. Time moves on, clubland is a fickle place, but make no mistake there hasn't been a club in London with an atmosphere like Turnmills....togetherness, darkness, euphoria...as close to a Northern Club that London has ever had. Fabric...attitude, not atmosphere. Here's to the memories.

wha-what, Turnmills is closing? I loved the Gaudi looking decor and standing in front of the window to the DJ booth. There were so many amazing shows, the one most vividly (or blurily) remembered was deep Dish in 2003.

When I heard the news I felt it was only right to book tickets for 21st. So I will be able to say goodbye to a club that has been a major part of my life for a decade. This is the last of the major clubs that I grew up with that is closing. Farewell Turnmills.

Eve From: norfolk
Hey Dean!" What a strange thing to see you here!! Djv. Thinking about a dance for the first time in years... what a way to go Eve

Torsten Voll From: London
Sad to see Turnmills go. It has been a unique club in London with many great successfull nights, which have not been matched by any other club in London. I first discovered Turnmills when I went there for Trade in 1996. Turnmills always had the best D.J's in town. Wishing Terry and all staff all the best for the future.

Sally From: Bromley
Cant believe its closing.. I came alive in that place..well into the Saturday mornings too! Shed a tear. At least its gonna go with a bang! Will be at the last gallery to party.. and all attending lets make it a night to remember! If on facebook follow this link and join the group for the last gallery dance! http://kcl.facebook.com/event.php?eid=10319271089&ref=mf

Paddy From: St Albans
The Gallery - the best place in the world to forget the last 5 days and play into the weekend. Stunning crowd - never a dull moment and always a friendly face for a natter in the tiny hours. For all the nights on the podium - hands in the air (even the night my mate nearly broke his back falling off it) we thank you. It may have been quoted before - 'this is my church...' - but I'd certainly stick to the claim. Goodbye and good luck!

Dean Mayhew From: Now in Norfolk
I am absoulty gutted turnmills is to close. I have spent many nights/morning and afternoons at Gallery, trade, melt, amongst many other. I had the pleaseure of being a trade baby member for many years at even after moving to Norfolk. I still travel for nights out at turnmills. I have never been to a club that has influenced me our the music scene. Silent tears will be shed. Thanks Turnmills for all my memories xx

Paul Saban From: London
Had my first Trade experience over 9 years ago, loved the club and Turnmills is still one of my favorite venues. Have met many good friends and my current partner there. I suppose all great things must come to and end, but a great shame, thanks to all the Management and staff at Turnmill for the fantastic times over the years.

dave and steve From:
we had a great time at trade and the gallery. we will miss thos lazers on the main floor

P Wolstenholme From: London
Big shame. Now I will not have a choice and will have to go to 1 Lombard Street.

Lone From: London
I feel like someone's boarded up my loungeroom and chucked all my fave records into the street! I lost my youth in there (from 95 to 2008), but gained an adorable hedonistic nerd-boy partner, some great mates, a lot of tinnitus and maybe a small amount of brain damage. I'm trying to view this as the universe's way of telling me to move on with the next phase, but still I'm gutted!! I'll be there for the last WE!!

tor thorsen From: San Francisco
I lived in London from 1995-1996 and had some of the best times of my dissolute youth at Turnmills. Viva EL Heavenly Social! Anyway, this is a complete drag to hear, and marks the passing of yet another cultural milestone.

There is something magic about the lasers and the people and the atmosphere about this place. This is my church, this is where a heal my hurt. Thank-you Turnmills for giving me some of the best nights and mornings of my life so far. It's been epic. x

Gotta say a huge THANK YOU to Danny, Terry and the rest of the team for all your support and assistance since we joined you at that memorable 8th Birthday Bash. It truly has been a pleasure working with you and for many reasons we will be sad to see Turnmills close. It simply was an institution. Wishing you all the best in your future ventures and I hope our paths cross soon enough. Be Good Paul, Grant and the Kinky Malinki Team

Dom From: NW London
Farewell Turnmills! :-( You were the first place that took me on a journey and introduced me to the otherside whilst Sister Bliss and Danny Rampling took the night away....and I loved it. 7 years ago this July we attended the boat party extravaganza which was amazing...especially when Tower Bridge opened up for us! The night was perfect and organised very well and the beats were naughty. Many a memories from the Clerkenwell haunt that I will never forget. Well done Tall Paul and Co. Peace and Love Big Dom

i've been going to Turnmills for over ten years, and i must say its by far the best club in London,no England,no the World and will be sorly missed.3 years ago my m8 was out of the game and lost his wallet,1 of the bouncers found it and handed it in.At the end of the night on the off chance he asked if it had been handed in,after 5mins of looking 1 of them brought it out of the office and gave it to him,2 his amasement EVERYTHING was still in there.WHAT A CLUB CHEERS TURNMILLS X

The first club to give me a Saturday night residency with my brand HeatUK. It was an awesome learning curve and there are plenty more good times to come with Danny, Stix, Grahame, Ed and the crew. All the best Turnmills you've delivered like no other! Damian Gelle

I wish I went to Turnmills sooner as I only just managed to get a chance to check it out. Hopefully the promoters/management will find another venue to continue these legendary club nights. I'm holding out for a sequel!

I've had the pleasure and honour of both DJing and clubbing at Turnmills on various occasions, and always had an awesome night. I remember when I was first booked to play at the club, I was more excited than as a kid at Christmas. Various clubbing nights too, including cramming into the legendry DJ box with around 15 others, despite it being only allowed to hold 3 people legally!

Shame the place is closing. I remember the Eurobeat 2000 nights with a mixture of nostalgia and horor :-)

Nelson From: London
How strange to imagine London without Turnmills - the late night shop towards Farringdon must be gutted! Not to mention a load of people who knew there was generally a quality selection of sounds to be heard and danced to when you turned up there. Thanks and good luck.

The 1 & only club I have been 2 since I have been studyin in London. I still remember that night when A. Van Buuren was playin and my mates were tellin me something which I couldn't listen 2 as I was lost in the environment or atmosphere (whichever u call it). It seemed every1 knew every1 and what not. Gosh I wish I could say out loud how much I will miss it. But, will not miss the last dance.

Paul B From: Tring
I'm fairly certain the night I sat on top of one of the speakers and had a ring side seat as I watched Lisa Loud just rock the joint claimed a large chunk of the hearing in my right ear. I'd like to know if the girl that sat up ther with me also now has a hearing aid (which I don't use - too uncool!) and you know what - it was worth it. I'm thinking sweaty crowd, everyone on it, the break down as the music goes quiet - the hands in the air, the whistles teasing the DJ to let the track rip again and then BANG! with the track back to the max it's smiles, sweat, fingers through the smoking lasers and still another 6 hours to go. If you've really got to go, then god bless you - you were gorgeous and I love you all, from the Owners to the DJ's to the humble ravers. awesome.

What can I say! I first came to the Gallery 8 years ago. I met a guy, took him home and 6 years later he became my husband. I also met my bridesmaid and my nearest, derest and closest friends on the dancefloor underneath that laser! The Gallery has been a place of extreme joy, delight and fun and became my clubbing haven and home. So many geat nights and so many bad photos to prove it so I am so sad to see you go but we all need to move on. To Danny and all at the Gallery past and present, thank you so much for giving me the best memories and friends. It was an honour to be a Gallery Girl! Love you - Gooooo Gallery! xxxxxxxxx

Hi all, its such a shame that you living the clubland I had great opportunity to walk through the doors of turnmills twice when I visited London 3 Months ago for Above and Beyond and Armin Van Buuren in December and that was best experience and time in London I spent, I thank you for the great sets that were offered and now I only got pictures and memories to remember this club by!!!! thank you again and all the best.

I've been going to your club ever since I came to England and it has been, on every occasion, without fail, the best possible clubbing experience You could hope to have in London, hell! Dare I say it, the world! I'm devastated but what a fantastic innings and what a fantastic way to go! With A HUGE BANG! and a big thanks from me and all my friends! Cheers

Nick From: Southampton
I could not believe when my m8 sent me the link saying the place was shutting up for good... This sadly will be my 5th and final time to visit the best club in the uk after breaking my cherry with the 1st Mauro Picotto meganight when "new time, new place" had just come out in the summer of 04, 2 Armin 8hr sets with 1 being the "shivers" album party aswell as a armin and ferry night... Bring on easter sunday for a good old school rave up!

Is there any way of purchasing 2 tickets for the Friday night. I know it is sold out on ticket web. My partner is travelling over from Germany and is a hugh HUGH dance music fan. He travels the world to see different venues and DJ. Judge Jules is a fav of his. Also it is his 30th Birthday, if there is anyway I could get 2 tickets, I know it would be very special supprise/ birthday memory for him. I know this is a long shot. If you could see his collection of dance music you would understand my request. He also has every flyer from every dance event he has been to in the last 14 years and ticket. Could say he's a "dance music freek" Look forward to hearing from you, with everything crossed!!!!

André Serra From: Sao Paulo - Brazil
I went back to Brazil one and a half year ago after 15 months living in London, and Turnmills is the place that I miss the most in London. I've been to many parties, but Turnmills was special for me. I'm going to London this year during the summer, and I was hoping to go there again. It's really sad, but I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to be there many times. All I can say is, for everyone who is in London, enjoy these last days while the club is still open. Tunrmills will always be in my heart, my favorite club ever. Let's hope that The Gallery will continue in another club being as good as it used to be in Turnmills. LONG LIVE TURNMILLS!

My first clubbing experience in London, this club still remains the best one I've ever been to anywhere. So many memories ... C.J. Mackintosh, Danny Rampling, Joey Negro, Lottie, David Morales, ATFC, Booby & Steve, The Scumfrog, CITY LOUD, Tom the bouncer, So Much Love To Give, The lazers, laughing at people who fell down the gap at the side of the stage, then falling down it yourself! rambling to randoms in the seating area by the stairs before plucking up the courage to leave and face daylight! The bass! I guess all good things... I will be back for one last dance! Thanks for the memories.

Melissa Hobbs From: Epsom in Surrey
DON'T GO I LOVE YOU! I've only been to Turnmills a couple of times but loved it every single time, usually ended up there when the Shapeshifters were on, all were wiked nights. I cannot believe Turnmills is closing... It's one of the best clubs I've ever been to, I'm truely gutted!

I can't believe you're actually closing. I've been coming since 1996 to The Gallery and it's always been my favourite club. I can honestly say that my first time changed my life and shaped my social activities for the following 12 years. The best night I ever had was the boxing day party in 1997, unbelievable. I remember the days when The Gallery on Fridays and the occasional Clockwork Orange nights at Camden Palace were by far the best nights in London. I'll be down one more time before you close, then I may even give up raving - it's that significant.

Tamsin Woods From: Godalming

End of an era. I was a clubbing virgin till I visited Turnmills on a fri night( The Gallery) during 1997. I can remember when Peter Stringfellow being turned away and us low life nutters being let in,the best chill out room in the restaurant upstairs and dancing to tall pall and hoping Tony de Vit would make an apearance on fri. Hoping to get my 40 year old mates away from their wives for the last Gallery .Good luck to Tall pall and familly.

Jeff From: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Have actually been to Turnmills once last October after hearing so much about the place. Really loved the club! Sad to know that I wont be able to pay a visit on my next visit to London:-(

Jordan From: Middlesbrough/London
Yo EC1! It has only been in recent times that I got the chance to come down to the club, since then there has been a few occasiosn, it was the final occasion in the club where I finally worked out where everything was, it took a few times, but thats what I liked, it was a mystery with beautiful tunes pumping from every corner! The 23rd March will be a very sad day in the clubbing world, but I will be there at the last dance gripping onto the memories and the soulful sounds of the Knuckles! All the best to you all, and heres to the future!

Its a shame that one of London's best clubs and certainly my favourite is closing down for no good reason! This was where I spent my 18th birthday, making it my first ‘official’ (legal) clubbing/raving experience. I hope The Gallery finds a new home sum where, hopefully Ministry, but it will never be the same away from Turnmills! We love u Turnmills! Let’s go out with a big bang on Good Friday! Peace!

Chris From: Glasgow
Around the mid 90's a friend persuaded me to visit a club they had heard of at Turnmills in London. It was my first true clubbing experience and absolutely blew my mind. I met friends there who I'm still in contact with today. The music and DJ's, laser shows, the people, the venue and particularly the amazing dancing and the glamour all changed me and my outlook for the rest of my life. You raised the bar. I am so sad to hear the news. Thanks to everyone at Turnmills for all the experiences you gave wee lads like me when we were growing up and the sensational DJ's you introduced us to. Thanks for all the memories. x

Heavenly......Together....London Calling.....The Gallery........My 20s would not have been the same without you all. 'A night at Turnmills' even became a unit of currency, legal tender amongst old friends. I'm quite upset.

I first attended the Gallery at Turnmills on 31st October 2003, for the Halloween special... I've been to all the best clubs around the world - Amnesia, Space, Godskitchen, Gatecrasher etc...And nothing comes even remotely close to how awesome Turnmills is - the atmosphere, the lights/lasers, the sound system, the people and of course the music. I am absolutely gutted the club is closing and I will sorely miss the place. March 21 - 23rd will be a sad weekend for what will follow will be the closure of one of the best clubs in the world. Turnmills I salute you!

Awesome club with so many memories for so many people. From my first London club night with my brothers to see the Chemical Bros in Dec 1999 to meeting my gf at The Gallery in Feb 2004. Thanks to all the staff and DJs over the years for all the good times :)

Vic Stringer From: Romford now (Carshalton before)
Could not believe the news. Have been going to the club for years and never thought the day would come when it would close its doors forever! I have made some great friends through the club, my life in London would not have been the same without The Gallery. I represented clubbers at a particularly sticky license application and would gladly do it all again. I love you Turnmills, you will always have a special place in my heart.

Dave From: Surrey
Turnmills is like a 2nd home to me. Im gutted that its closing. No venue has the same up for it and friendly crowd. I guess easter is now cancelled for me as I will be in Turnmills all weekend

Clare From: Reading
My first official clubbing experience was at Turnmills, and it still hasn't been bettered by festivals or clubs overseas. It definately has the friendlist crowd in London, and the most atmospheric setting. I'm deeply saddened by the news and somewhat let down. I thought clubbing was about the people and the music not the money?

SuperPepp From: NAPLES - ITALY
THANKS FOR ALL.

Lisa From: Weymouth
I'll never forget the night i lost my Turnmills virginity, you will always have a special place in my heart x

Absolutely devastating news for London's club scene. Such a shame that the mighty march of the corporate office space is going to claim yet another victim. What with The Cross also gone London's club scene is looking in a pretty sorry state.

Graham From: Essex
I've never been distraught to hear the closing of a pub or club in my life till I read Turnmills was closing, I've clubbed across the globe and still to this day I have never felt an atmoshphere like that hallowd place creates each and every week. Big thanks to all the guys over the years that has made it possible from the promoters to the Bar Staff & good luck for the future, this will be the only weekend I leave Turnmills without that big fat grin slapped across my face!! Absolutely gutted, it'll never be replaced! RIP

Chrish-Bigfish From: Strood, Kent
Thank you for so many fantastic nights, The Gallery will be missed big time among my group of mates, this for me seemed to be the only Club that retained the "there for the music" atmosphere, let out a huge cheer on the dancefloor and everyone fed off that and would cheer with you. Love it... ----THANK YOU TURNMILLS CREW---- for everything! Can I just say. Yippee Kiyay Mother Fuckers!

Andy C From: Balham
Can't believe you're closing down, what's going on, why is this the first I've heard of it?? Please make sure that this is just some marketing ploy, as I strongly suspect it is; and that you make that 'phoenix from the flames' come back as soon as possible! Long live Turning!!

shelley wilson From: leeds (now)
I cant believe it! I always assumed it would go on forever. Turnmills is without doubt my favourite club in the whole world, the atmosphere, the music, the people. It was my first proper introduction to the clubbing scene and very few places have equalled the experiences I have had there, certainly never bettered! I'll always remember my 21rst birthday at The Gallery, seeing Fat Boy Slim play and meeting up with him and a spangled Sara Cox in the VIP room afterwards, legendary! Turnmills, thank you, I'll miss you, but never forget you. x x x x x x

Turnmills is the best club venue in London and has given me so many amazing nights, especially at The Gallery, which became an institution for me for many years ! A sad, sad time. Turnmills has been such a big part of my life and opened the door to me to promoting and DJing. I'll miss the place very much, and look forward to the gallery's new home. Although Turnmills will forever be the toughest act to follow.

Sadly, I'm going to be away for the Last Weekend. You were the place where we all felt like family. My 7.30 in the mornings on a Saturday will be all the more boring! Seriously though, you're all the best and clubland will miss you - can't wait for your events all over London in the future. You're all the best!!

tdf From: New York
What a tragedy. I lived in London 1997-2001 and Turnmills was the place to be. You rivaled our Sound Factory Bar. It's befitting that Frankie Knuckles does your Last Dance because he too is the premier Houseaholic. RIF

when i first came to london 4 yrs ago, turnmills was the first club i went to in london. since then i have came back time and time again, always leaving with good memories, and good friends. i will surly miss you, and good luck for the future

TIM HUTCHINSON From: London
I first walked through the door in 96 and never looked back. If I can say that one thing changed my life, my out look on life it was certainly the Gallery. I met my wife Jo there and we have been married for six years now. I met all my closest friends there, we are still that group dancing. Thanks for the music, the welcome, the realistic attitude and for changing things.... for the better.......

Soph From: Bournemouth
Its gonna be emotional - definitely my most favourite club in the whole of the UK! Absolutely gutted that its closing... :(

Thank you Turnmills for 10 years of fun, new friends, outstanding music and THE most incredible light show! All I want to know is where is my painting these days...? I hate goodbyes but this one I wouldn't miss for anything - see you on the 21st xx

Ashtar From: London
Danny, very sad to see Turnmills bow out. Have great memories of Babyshambles recording in your little studio downstairs. It felt like the right place to be filming it all unfolding. Great venue. Good luck and good fortune with all your future ventures....

Best Fu**in' club on the planet, always has been, always will be. Best line-up's, big no-cheese tunes, many fantastic memories, and a sound system yo could use to whip eggs into the perfect souffle ha ha. Leaving a HUGE hole for other clubs to fill. Love you Turnmills from here In NZ : ) xx

Jamie Roe From: Melbourne, Australia
I lived in the UK from 2003-05 and was shocked and suprised that Turnmills was shutting their doors but also feel blessed that I was able to go to some proper London superclubs like Turnmills. Going there and seeing my favourite djs like DJ Rush, Ben Sims and Misstress Barbara and meeting cool locals like Chris Finke for ten quid was off the hook. Thanks again :} Jamie Roe

Colin Gaffney From: Sydney

Mark Piper From: Stansted, Essex
Where are all the good clubs going?...and the best of them, the most intimate, friendly of them all - Turnmills - will be no more. I've lost count of the great nights I've had there in the company of the best DJs in the world - too many to mention, but perhaps the most memorable? Danny Rampling, Room 2, Tsunami Appeal night - his set was stunning and what a nice guy...and THE right man to be there on its final night...with me :-) Farewell Turnmills, it's been emotional.....

munyee From: london
Ooooooh nooooo! What are we gonna do when the doors finally close?? Before that I will be partying my socks off! Turnmills - you will be much missed!!

Alliey Gee From: London
Oh my word.....the amazing memories I have at headstart parties - getting a hug from Fatboy Slim, Giving smarties to Carl Clarke and being his 'groupies'- living at the Headstart parties with the kahuna's, loving the chemical brothers, and jumping out of my skin when Carl Cox blew the speakers!!!!! Amazing times, amazing club, thanks for all the memories!!! I still have my headstart membership card! Good luck to you all for the future!

Aram Khatchatourian From: Moscow
I really regret that Turnmills is closing and have great hopes that this club ¹1 in the world will revive and the Gallery will again gather the top DJ's.

Simon From: Wapping
Well, what can I say. For the past 10 years if anyone asked me where to go out in London, Friday night at Turnmills was always my first answer. I have had some of the best nights of my life in Turnmills and the Together NYE parties, especially the Lighthouse. Thanks for the memories

The end of an era is approaching. On the Easter Weekend (21-23 March) club king Turnmills will be hanging up its headphones in an emotional farewell to clubland.
The reaction to our closure has been rather overwhelming and we’d like to thank everyone for their messages and support. The decision to close one of the world’s leading underground clubs wasn’t an easy decision to make, believe us... but we’re happy to leaving on our terms and at a time when Turnmills is at the very peak of our existence and where dance music is as thriving as it ever has been. We’ll leave behind of course too many incredible memories to mention here, but we’re looking forward to the many new challenges ahead.

The Last Dance Weekend therefore is a celebration of the past 23 years featuring all the major club nights and DJs who have made a significant impact on us and the people of Turnmills. We want to go out with a bang and we needed an extended break like the Easter weekend in order to put on three very special show-stopping finale, which in their own way would reflect the varying music policies and concepts to the club, whilst giving the old place the perfect send off it richly deserves.

We first put tickets on sale on Sunday 17th February and sold over 1000 tickets in 24 hours!! As we write this, we expect the last remaining expected to sell out in an instant (especially once the line-ups are revealed!) So if you haven’t yet bought your ticket, we strongly advise that you do so fast, because once those tickets have gone, there really won’t be anymore!!

I’m sure you’ll agree that the three line-ups we’ve put together are suitably LARGE for this fairytale ending!! So, the action begins on Good Friday 21st March as Turnmills’ long-serving weekly club - The Gallery welcomes 18 veterans of the floor to say goodbye in style after nearly 13 years at the helm and over 650 parties. The main room is filled by residents past and present as Judge Jules, Tall Paul, Seb Fontaine, Sister Bliss, Steve Lee, Gavyn Mytchel and Alex Anderson have the honour of taking the controls on the last night. Backroom fave Joy takes over the infamous T2, with old friends Brandon Block, Alex P, Lisa Loud, Daniele Davoli and Tania von Pear letting rip in the intimate space. Over in T3, The Gallery traditions continue as international guests Yves de Reuyter and Corvin Dalek jet in for the occasion joining former residents Red Jerry and Darren Christian, alongside current ressies John Askew and The Viceroy. Look out for a very special announcement coming soon from Gallery HQ as we reveal the new London home for The Gallery - launching on Friday 25th April. Mmmm...The following night, Saturday 22nd March sees the electronic power of Turnmills’ flagship Saturday night event Together take over proceedings... and boy have we got something special in store for you. Together combines forces with Turnmills’ eclectic predecessors The Heavenly and Headstart to deliver arguably the biggest club line-up of 2008. Step forward The Chemical Brothers, former residents every week for 4 years from The Heavenly days and Fatboy Slim – the DJ magician and Turnmills legend. These two UK dance music giants couldn’t resist one final flirt with the Turnmills faithful and we’re honoured to have them involved in this epic occasion. Joining them will be Mr Together (and 5 year resident) Justin Robertson, plus old friends James Holroyd, Nathan Detroit and Guilty Pleasures’ Sean Rowley, plus Heavenly crew Robin, Nick, Martin & Jeff. T2 welcomes the current crop of Together residents in Anil Chawla, Streetlife DJs and John Kennedy (XFM), alongside Headstart bods Jon & Dan Kahuna, plus Together regular Audio Jackers. The (infamous) Together All-Stars mix up party bangers upstairs in the Topfloor featuring all the Turnmills gang – Paul Stix, Ed Coward, Nikolas Esselle, Carson Gardiner and Kelly Rush. The third and FINAL EVENT EVER at Turnmills will pick up the pace on Easter Sunday 23rd March, as Turnmills opens its doors for the Last Dance. The good ship Turnmills will be setting sail for one final dancefloor adventure and this closing party will focus on our former house sessions in the shape of London Calling, Metrogroove and City Loud. The residents from those unforgettable events – Danny Rampling and CJ Mackintosh will both be getting their groove on, around a very special headline set from one of Turnmills’ closest friends – Frankie Knuckles, who jets in especially from NYC. Support comes from Lottie, Ashley Beedle, Pete Heller, Terry Farley and Ricky Morrison... plus Turnmills MD Danny Newman will make his DJ Debut (!) as he goes back-to-back with Danny Rampling to play the last set ever at Turnmills. And then my friends, it’s time to turn off the lasers and lock the Turnmills doors forever. Goodbye old friend. You’ll always be in our hearts.

Former London Calling & Metrogroove resident and all round Turnmills good guy, Danny Rampling summarises the big weekend ahead... “After many years of fun at Turnmills, obviously I’m really sad to see the club go. And so in the spirit of Turnmills prepare for a marathon weekend of events as we bid a fond farewell to one of London’s greatest ever clubs. Prepare to stay late...!!”
